The Alternative Designs

Recognizing the issues with the current proposal, we’ve explored alternative designs that better suit our community’s needs without compromising safety or efficiency. A 136-foot or even a 130-foot outer diameter roundabout could reduce the total size by up to 15%, allowing for smaller, more context-sensitive entry lanes that reflect the actual use of each approach. These alternatives offer significant benefits: a reduced footprint that minimizes impact on private property, cost savings for taxpayers, and environmental advantages such as less intrusion into the floodplain. In this section, we’ll present these practical solutions, complete with visual comparisons, to demonstrate how smaller designs seamlessly fit our intersection.
